Territory and vineyards
A step forward...
The vineyards date back to 1989. This was also the year in which the farm, formerly called Cencioni e Pallari, was established as a business.
A major step forward was made when the company created Solaria. This move was made possible also thanks to the considerable experience gained by the family and to the entrepreneurial skill of the owner, Patrizia Cencioni, who has added a refined touch of femininity to the business.
The fine wines of Solaria
The Solaria vineyards are well sheltered from thecold winds of the east (from the MonteAmiata) and of the north (from the Montalcino hill). This unique microclimate allows the Sangiovese Grosso grapes – the so-called Montalcino Brunellograpes – to reach perfect ripeness, helped by man’s loving care and dedication.
The vineyards coverfifty hectaresof hilly land on a natural plateau at 300 a.s.l., 8 hectars of which are devoted to the production of Brunello wine, 0.5 hectares to the production of Sant’Antimo d.o.c.g. wine and 7 hectars are cultivated with olive groves.
These figures are the strength of our farm. Following a selection of the freshest bunches, 600 quintals of Sangiovese and 30 quintals of Cabernet are regularly produced.
Sangiovese grapes are used to produce Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino wines whereas the combination of Sangiovese and Cabernet is used for the production of Solarianne, our own "sunny" wine. |
